Thanksgiving Week Events

The holidays are officially upon us! Spend time with your family and friends enjoying all the delicious food and fun activities for all ages.

November 18th
10am - 2pm Holiday Craft Show & Bake Sale @ Buxton United Methodist Church
This annual show will host local crafers and artist offering their creations, as well as homemade cakes, pies, cookies, and confections made by the ladies of the church. Hot dogs and soup will be available for lunch. Pick up some unique gifts for the holidays or a yummy desert for Thanksgiving dinner! The church is located across from the Cape Hatteras Secondary School.

November 20th
5:30pm - Thanks For Giving Yoga @ Spa Koru
Spa Koru's annual "Thanks for Giving Yoga" class will be held in our studio on Nov 20th at 5:30pm. This class is friendly for all levels and is open to the public. All we ask is that you bring nonperishable food items to the class, for the Hatteras Island Food Pantry.

November 21st
2pm - Beach Apparatus Drill @ Chicamacomico Life Saving Station
Site Admission: $8/General, $7/Seniors & Student Rate, $6/Kids 4-7
Wildly known for its rich history of saving souls in peril from the sea, the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station for many years conducted a reenactment of the beach apparatus rescue drill. The drill was recognized as an integral part of the life saving service and early Coast Guard along our shores. Site admission required.

November 22nd
6pm - 9pm - Sky Blue Concert Series @ Waterman's Bar & Grill
Enjoy an evening of live music out on th soundfront sunset deck at Waterman's Grill. The Sky Blue Concert Series is a great family friendly atmosphere that everyone in  your family will enjoy. All shows are FREE! Food and drinks are available from Watermans.

November 23rd
8am - 6th Annual Surfin' Turkey 5K & Puppy Drum Run @ Hatteras Village Civic Center
Running this beautiful 5K course through the historic fishing village of Hatteras supports the youth of Hatteras Island. The proceeds from this race support the Hatteras Island Youth Education fund (HIYEF). HIYEF provides funding for educational opportunities and enrichment in Hatteras Island schools.

November 24th & 25th - 10am - 4pm
10am - 4pm - Hatteras Island Arts & Crafts Guild Show @ Cape Hatteras Secondary School
This 2-day show features work by local artists, artisans, photographers, and craft persons.  There will also be a scholarship raffle to benefit local high school students. Admission is free, and lunch and snacks are available.

November 24th
9am - 4pm - Jewelry Making Event! @ Studio 12
Cost: $18/First Piece, $12/Any Piece After. Walk-ins welcome!
Join in on all the fun at Studio 12's Jewelry Making Event! Choose to make a mermaid ring, earrings, or a wrapped sea glass pendant. Make a great gift for someone special and for yourself! 5 people at a time can make jewelry, which takes about 30-40mins. During the event shop the jewelry trunk show with great savings on several OBX artists. First 10 registrants get a FREE large coffee or $2 off latte/cappuccino.

10am - Visit with Santa @ Chicamacomico Life Saving Station
Site Admission: $8/General, $7/Seniors & Student Rate, $6/Kids 4-7
Today will be the last day open for the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station for the season. And to help close down the site will be SANTA! Bring the kids (and adults too) to come visit with Santa

Noon - 2pm - Santa Meet & Greet @ Pangea Tavern
Santa will be making his first appearance of the season at Pangea Tavern! Bring the kiddos (and adults too) to come tell Santa if you've been a good little boy or girl this year. Santa will be available for photos too!
