Day at the Docks will be returning in just a few short weeks with a new four day event format. Events will be held September 13th-16th. Making a comeback this year are all of our favorite waterfront activities including concrete marlin competition, chowder cook-off, survival suit race, lawn dance, blessing of the fleet, and much more. Adding to the mix this year will be lectures about the history of Hatteras Island fishing, food and beverage tastings of North Carolina, and a shrimp ‘n grits luncheon.
Taking center stage this year will be the Seafood Throwdown. A new event for 2013 that will showcase the culinary expertise of two of Hatteras Island local chefs, Forest Paddock, executive chef at Inn on Pamlico Sound and Seth Foutz, head chef at Ketch 55. Each chef will have 1 hour to whip up a dish including the selected main ingredient, which will be revealed at the start time. Hatteras Realty’s very own Bobby Fillet will be emceeing the event and giving seafood preparation tips and details during the cook-off. This event is sure to the “catch” of the day!
